PoSt - BrUnEi...

in case u guys didn't know, i'm back from brunei!!!

as if tt isn't obvious enuff.. haha..

touched down this morning at ard 8am, hovered ard e duty-free shops for a while coz dad mistook e timing of e flight to be in e evening.. got some vodka n wine to share with frens n family alike, burnt quite a hole in my pocket act, but well, wat's money for exept to spend? haha maybe tt's not quite true, there's two other purposes to money, precautionary n speculative.. haha e A for econs was not for nth ya?

anyway e trip wasn't as bad as expected, well at least not so compared to previous coy outings.. e weather wasn't tt bad to us, though it did threatened to rain heavily at certain periods of time.. it did rain of course, but tt was when we were in e "comfort" of our base camp at lakiun, which is at some obsure island in brunei.. we didn't had swamp topoing too, which was, i guess, e main course of foot rots for e previous coys.. hehe a foot rot free brunei for us, true, but not a scar free one.. insects were rampant, even in camp, esp cicadas which go mad at light.. they're kinda like e dive-bombers of e insect world, as can be seen when one flew straight into my fren's head with a resounding clash.. tt was quite a sight i imagine.. sandflies were a big problem too, crowding out e torch beams once they're used.. accidentally walked into a sea of them n almost got choked by them when some went up my nostrils.. scary haha..

anyway brunei was mostly abt knolls, trees, vines, insects, streams n e occasional river.. sunrise n sunsets were ard an hr earlier den back home here, n when it gets dark, it gets really dark, prob due to e canopy hanging overhead n e clouds masking out e light from e moon n stars.. exercise had to be ceased b4 nightfall as a result, n we got lots of rest from tt, which was pretty essential coz of all e climbing, bashing n navigation of e difficult terrain in e jungles.. unlike in tekong, one can really get lost here in brunei, coz everywhere looks e same, even after walking thru it.. remember a particular event when we spent ard n hr walking round n round e same area looking for e area where we left our field packs after completing a mission, in e end had to bash in e general direction b4 we finally found them.. got to scale another mountain also.. biang was abt e same as belumut in my opinion, only tt more load had to be carried up biang.. n e descent was harder than imagined.. come to think of it, e only problem we had in brunei was water problem.. 3.5l wasn't enuff for us hungry hippos, n e fact tt we were always on high ground n t it didn't rain it outfield worsened e problem.. had to break open an iv pack n water our mouths with e hartman solution in it at one pt of time.. oh well.. at least we all made it back safe n sound.. with no bones broken or anything.. enjoyed a nite of fun n excitement at e theme park on e last day, which was definitely worth e suffering we went thru, though not quite adequete enuff, methinks.. haha maybe i expect too much..

lessons.. learnt thruout e trip, but how many are act remembered having went thru them.. it's human nature to appreciate things only when they need it but dun have it.. how many of us will act learn to appreciate e things ard us now? not many i guess.. life's a fragile thing though.. a fren almost tumbled into a 3m deep hole filled with water, saved only by e vines supporting him at e edge of e rock.. sheesh..

there's only a thin line b/w life n death, so do be appreciative with e things ard ya? haha..
