TiMe...

It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him.

Over the phone, his mother told him, 'Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday.'

Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.

'Jack, did you hear me?'

'Oh sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago,' Jack said.

'Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of the fence' as he put it,' Mom told him.

'I loved that old house he lived in,' Jack said.

'You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life,' she said.

'He's the one who taught me carpentry,' he said. 'I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral,' Jack said.

As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.

The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time. Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.

'What's wrong, Jack?' his Mom asked.

'The box is gone,' he said.

'What box?' Mom asked.

'There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was the thing I
value most,' Jack said. It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.

'Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him,' Jack said. 'I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom.'

It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day, Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. 'Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days,' the note read.

Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. 'Mr. Harold Belser' it read.

Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside. 'Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I
valued most in my life.'

A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes,! Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch. Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved: 'Jack, Thanks for your time! - Harold Belser.'

'The thing he valued most...was...my time.'

Jack held the watch for a few minutes then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days. 'Why?' Janet, his assistant asked.

'I need some time to spend with my son,' he said. 'Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your time!'

Life and How to Survive It

Below is a speech to the graduating class of 2008 at NTU convocation ceremony last week by Adrian Tan, a litigation lawyer and the author of The Teenage Textbook. Read it! It's hilarious but very meaningful.

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your convocation address. It’s a wonderful honour and a privilege for me to speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by practicing at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when you’ve already won her heart, you don’t need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end of education. You’re done learning.

You’ve probably been told the big lie that “Learning is a lifelong process” and that therefore you will continue studying and taking masters’ degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to be repeat customers.

The good news is that they’re wrong.

The bad news is that you don’t need further education because your entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of you. You’re in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean the average life span of a group of people. But I’m here to talk about a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There’s very little danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you’ll have another 40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they’re 50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn’t meet their life expectancy.

I’m here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it’s calculated based on an average. And you never, ever want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working, falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them. And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life’s a mess. You are not entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don’t expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term “Karoshi”, which means death from overwork. That’s the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan 'Arbeit macht frei' was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy it and I would do it for free. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve been in some other type of work that still involved writing fiction ? probably a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don’t imagine you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I’ll go further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don’t, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I’m not asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the truth, without thought to the consequences. It
takes great maturity to appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and that you should avoid telling the truth. I now say this to you: be hated.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused, murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it’s often the case that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one’s own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure sign that
you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work ? the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.

You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

You’re going to have a busy life. Thank goodness there’s no life expectancy.

Tickle These, Elmo

A women desperately looking for work goes into a toy factory.

The Personnel Manager goes over her resume and explains to her that he regrets he has nothing worthy of her. The woman answers that she really needs work and will take almost anything. The Personnel Manager hems and haws and finally says he does have a low skill job on the Tickle-Me-Elmo line and nothing else. The woman happily accepts.. He takes her down to the line and explains her duties and that she should come in at 8am the next day.

The next day at 8:45 there's a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Tickle-Me-Elmo line manager comes in and starts ranting about the woman just hired. After screaming for 15 minutes about how badly backed up the assembly line is, the Personnel Manager suggested he be shown the problem.

Together they head down to the line and sure enough Elmos are backed up from here to kingdom come. Right at the end of the line is the woman just hired. She has pulled over a roll of the material used for the Elmos and has a big bag of marbles. They both watch as she cuts a little piece of fabric and takes 2 marbles and starts sewing them between Elmo's legs.

The Personnel Manager starts to kill himself laughing and finally after 20 minutes of rolling around, he pulls himself together and walks over to the new employee and says, "I'm sorry, I guess you misunderstood me yesterday. What I wanted you to do was give Elmo two test tickles."

LeTtEr

My dear Jagjit, I am in a well here and hoping you are also in a well there. I'm writing this letter slowly, because I know you cannot read fast.

I won't be able to send the address as the last Sardar who stayed here took the house numbers with them for their new house so they would not have to change their address.

Hopefully by next week we will be able to take our earlier address plate here, n that our address will remain same too. This place is really nice.

It even has a washing machine, situated right above the toilet I'm not sure it works too well. Last week I put in 3 shirts, pulled the chain and haven't seen them since.

The weather here isn't too bad. It rained only twice last week. The first time it rained for 3 days and second time for 4 days. The coat you wanted me to send you, your Aunt said it would be a little too heavy to send inthe mail with all the metal buttons, so we cut them off and put them in the pocket.

Your father has another job. He has 500 men under him. He is cutting the grass at the cemetery.

By the way I took Bahu to our club's poolside. The manager is Badmash. He told her that two piece swimming suit is not allowed in his club. We were confused as to which piece should we remove?

Your sister had a baby this morning. I haven't found out whether it is a girl or a boy, so I don't know whether you are an Aunt or Uncle.

Your uncle, Jetinder fell in the nearby well. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off bravely and drowned. We cremated him and he burned for three days.

Your best friend, Balwinder, is no more. He died trying to fulfill his father's last wishes. His father had wished to be buried in the sea after he died.
And your friend died while in the process of digging a grave for his father.

There isn't much more news this time. Nothing much has happened.

Love Mom.
P.S : Jagjit, I was going to send you some money but by the time I realized, I had already sealed off this letter.

Study this paragraph and all things in it. What is vitally wrong with it? Actually, nothing in it is wrong, but you must admit that it is most unusual. Don't just zip through it quickly, but study it scrupulously. With luck you should spot what is so particular about it and all words found in it. Can you say what it is? Tax your brains and try again. Don't miss a word or a symbol. It isn't all that difficult?

Seven Blunders of the World

The Seven Blunders of the World is a list that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi gave to his grandson Arun Gandhi, written on a piece of paper, on their final day together, not too long before his assassination.

Wealth without work
Pleasure without conscience
Knowledge without character
Commerce without morality
Science without humanity
Worship without sacrifice
Politics without principle

This list grew from Gandhi's search for the roots of violence. He called these acts of passive violence. Preventing these is the best way to prevent oneself or one's society from reaching a point of violence.

To this list, Arun Gandhi added an eighth blunder.

Rights without responsibilities

hEaRt Of ThE wIeLdEr..

A legend tells of a test where Muramasa challenged his master, Masamune, to see who could make a finer sword. They both worked tirelessly and eventually, when both swords were finished, they decided to test the results. The contest was for each to suspend the blades in a small creek with the cutting edge facing the current. Muramasa's sword, the Juuchi Fuyu (10,000 Winters) cut everything that passed its way; fish, leaves floating down the river, the very air which blew on it. Highly impressed with his pupil's work, Masamune lowered his sword, the Yawaraka-Te (Tender Hands), into the current and waited patiently. Not a leaf was cut, the fish swam right up to it, and the air hissed as it gently blew by the blade. After a while, Muramasa began to scoff at his master for his apparent lack of skill in the making of his sword. Smiling to himself, Masamune pulled up his sword, dried it, and sheathed it. All the while, Muramasa was heckling him for his sword's inability to cut anything. A monk, who had been watching the whole ordeal, walked over and bowed low to the two sword masters. He then began to explain what he had seen.

"The first of the swords was by all accounts a fine sword, however it is a blood thirsty, evil blade as it doesn't discriminate as to who or what it will cut. It may just as well be cutting down butterflies as severing heads. The second was by far the finer of the two, as it doesn't needlessly cut that which is innocent and undeserving."

Know thyself

The saying "Know thyself" may refer by extension to the ideal of understanding human behavior, morals, and thought, because ultimately to understand oneself is to understand other humans as well. However, the ancient Greek philosophers thought that no man can ever comprehend the human spirit and thought thoroughly, so it would have been almost inconceivable to know oneself fully. Therefore, the saying may refer to a less ambitious ideal, such as knowing one's own habits, morals, temperament, ability to control anger, and other aspects of human behavior that we struggle with on a daily basis.

Pandora's box

In Greek mythology, Pandora's box is the box carried by Pandora that contained all the evils of mankind—greed, vanity, slander, lying, envy, pining—and hope.

After Prometheus' theft of the secret of fire, Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create the woman Pandora as part of the punishment for mankind. Pandora was given many seductive gifts from Aphrodite, Hermes, Charites, and Horae (according to Works and Days). For fear of additional reprisals, Prometheus warned his brother Epimetheus not to accept any gifts from Zeus, but Epimetheus did not listen, and married Pandora. Pandora had been given a box and instructed by Zeus to keep it closed, but she had also been given the gift of curiosity, and ultimately opened it. When she opened it, all of the evils of mankind escaped from the box, although Pandora was quick enough to close it again and keep one value inside- Hope.

More is More Than Enough

During the holiday season, and in business generally, we can hear the pursuit of more: more money, more customers, more profits, more food, more clothing, more friends, more time, more more.

When is more, enough? Do you have enough air to breathe and food to eat? Enough space to live in and business to keep you busy for a while?

If you are reading this now, you’ve surely got enough in your life to give yourself an occasional rest, a break, a moment out of the persistent quest for more…a chance to really enjoy what you already have, which most of the time is quite enough.

This is not a call to discard ambition or quell your quest for greater goals. Rather, this is an invitation to enjoy a moment of relaxation where you are, calm in all that is, comfortable in all you have, and grateful for the chance just to be here.

That’s enough.

Whine, Moan & Complain - Then Contribute!

Anyone with enough intelligence and emotion to muster a written complaint also has the ability to offer a constructive solution. If you can see what’s wrong with a situation, you must have some idea about what would set it right.

Noticing problems is half the puzzle; getting things improved is the more important part.

If you are upset with a vendor, colleague or business partner, you must have some expectations unmet, some needs ignored or some preferences overlooked.

Your view of the situation is unique and your perspective may be very useful to the other party. Clearly stated, your requests and recommendations could make a difference.

Unless you enjoy complaining for its own sake, follow these five simple steps to help everyone improve.

How to complain for action

1. State your original understanding, including the promise you heard and the standards you expected.

2. Identify the flaw, gap or oversight you experienced.

3. Explain the consequences you have suffered: costs, anxiety, adverse impact.

4. Request specific remedial action and/or compensation.

5. Make a suggestion for improvement. Help the other party do a better job the next time.

Key Learning Point
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You have the right to complain when things do not work out as you expected. But complaining is only half the job. You also have a responsibility to contribute.

Action Steps
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next time something goes wrong and you want to `give someone a piece of your mind', make sure that piece is constructive.

The greatest enemy lies within..

lEfT n RiGhT..

Humans, of course, are not immune to asymmetry. If you are a typical example of Homo sapiens, your right ear is a little lower than your left and your right hand and foot a little bigger than the left ones. If you are a male, your right testicle is larger and heavier - yet hangs higher - than the left one; if you are female, your right ovary probably outsizes your left one.

Beyond these anatomical asymmetries lie the curious behavioural ones. When asked to turn around, women tend to move to the left, while men rotate to the right. Language is controlled by the left hemisphere of the human brain, while spatial and emotional behaviours emerge from the right hemisphere. As you are well aware, human beings tend to have a 'favourite' hand which they use preferentially both for heavy physical tasks and tasks which require great dexterity. This favoured hand is called upon for such disparate activities as throwing, writing, bowling, punching, and performing micro-surgery. While the existence of hand preferences is common knowledge, what is less widely known is that humans also exhibit 'eyedness', 'earedness', and 'footedness' - that is, we all tend to have a favourite eye, ear, and foot.

Student fined maximum $10,000 for smuggling in puppy

A STUDENT who smuggled in a puppy from Johor Baru was slapped with the maximum fine of $10,000 on Wednesday.

Liu Liangwu, 21, pleaded guilty on Monday to importing the two-month-old chihuahua from Malaysia without a licence on Dec 24 last year.

A Customs officer was checking a car, driven by Liu, when he felt something furry on opening a compartment under the driver's seat.

Liu admitted that it was a puppy he had bought from a pet shop in Johor Baru. He did not apply for a licence from the Director-General, Agri-Food and Veterinary Services.

Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority prosecutor Yap Teck Chuan asked the court for a deterrent sentence.

He said the Animals and Birds (Quarantine) Rules required any dog or cat imported from any country except Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Ireland to be vaccinated against rabies and a subsequent 30-day quarantine.

This is to safeguard Singapore against diseases, especially rabies - a fatal viral disease which can be transmitted to humans or any warm-blooded animal through the bite of an infected animal - from spreading here.

'The risk of a rabies incursion is a serious concern as we are surrounded by infected countries. Singapore has been free from rabies since 1953,' he said.

Malaysia is not rabies-free and dogs imported from the country which have not undergone the required import procedures would pose a risk to the public here, he said.

Liu's lawyer, Mr Khoo Aik Yeow, said his client, an animal lover, bought the puppy for RM1,400 (about S$615) from an established pet shop in JB. The pet shop owner had assured him that the puppy was healthy, vaccinated and free from any diseases. Liu regretted the offence and promised not to do it in future.

District Judge May Mesenas said the case clearly called for a stiff sentence to reflect the seriousness of the offence.

She accepted the prosecutor's argument that there was a need to deter such offences from being committed, especially bringing in a dog which had not been vaccinated and subject to quarantine controls.

The puppy was seized. A locally bred chihuahua costs about $900 while an imported one from Australia can range from $1,000 to $2,000.

In 2001, a man who smuggled in four puppies was given three months' jail while another offender was given three weeks last year for importing a shih tzu from Malacca.

mOrBiD tHoUgHtS..

William Shakespeare, a famous person who died on e same day as his birthday..

Pretty cool huh? Betcha not many know about that..

What if the same thing happened to me?

Well it isn't that hard, from the easy availability of knives, screwdrivers, chainsaws, and not to forget the amount of high-rise buildings in sg.. Juz tt i juz missed my chance by a day, but what if..

1. How many ppl will act know abt it? Pretty reclusive these days..

2. How many ppl out of those who know will come for my wake? Not many since it's e busy period, n i dun think i'm tt close a fren to warrant such a visit..

3. How many of those who do come will be crying? Projected figures of less than 10 will cry for me, more should be crying for all the shit tt i left behind, including 3 projects, some debts, plus a routine..

Hmm..

3.1. I can't really help much in the projects due to my lack of listening in class as well as knowledge, so they'll prob be better off w/o me leeching off them

3.2. I'm easily replaced and subbed, n the wonders of e far east should be able to take their minds off me

4. My will, practically non-existent, but lets juz try to list some things out

4.1. Things of value: memories, friendships, not to forget love; well intangibles tt can't be passed on, so not much point in writing them down, will bring them along to my grave

4.2. Things with a price tag on them: none really belongs to me since i haven't really worked for my own pay, so theoretically everything belongs to my parents, oh well..

4.2.1. (I'll wear the shirt on my deathbed btw hehe..)

5. Will be a pretty dull affair in terms of colour since I dun have any offsprings at the moment hehe.. So there's no need to distinguish b/w generations..

6. Well my coffin should be pretty cheap considering my size, hmm, scrapped tt, I'll prob be cremated and poured into a regular-sized urn, with plenty of breathing room..

7. I'll prob hold an "alive" wake first, juz to let everyone know tt i'm dying, rather than juz have a wake where everyone comes n i can't even thank them for coming.. for more information, pls refer to "Tuesday with Morrie"

8. Published on this blog, a memorial in my name..

8.1. Done by myself..

9. Well the Earth will still continue rotating since my weight will be too insignificant to cause unbalance in nature

10. Hmm i'm thinking of wat else there is when a person dies.. Den i realise, nothing else will really be affected since life still goes on..

Oh well, kinda depressing how insignificant one can be to the whole universe..

To the world, u may be one person..
But to one person, you are the world..

Reflect, not regret..

Upon the events that are over.. Coz no one can turn back the hands of time, nor step into the past and make any changes.. What's done is done, learn from the experience. Think about it often, not to feel sad about, but as a reminder to never do it again..

Coz it hurts.. It still does..

Life's full of regrets once you look back at it.. But the balance of nature always ensure a similar amount of images that will bring smiles back onto your face..

The little little things.. Juz dun seem enuff..

The many many thanks.. Can never be sufficient..

Thanks for listening..

sElF-cOnFiDeNcE!!

bElIeVe It!

wHeN yOu BeLiEvE..

Many nights we’ve prayed,
With no proof anyone could hear.
In our hearts a hopeful song,
We barely understood.

Now we are not afraid,
Although we know there’s much to fear.
We were moving mountains long,
Before we knew we could.

There can be miracles,
When you believe.
Though hope is frail,
It’s hard to kill.
Who knows what miracles,
You can achieve.
When you believe,
Some how you will.
You will when you believe.

Easy to despair,
When all you hear is fear and lies.
Easy just to run and hide,
To frightened to begin.

But if we dare to dare,
Don’t wait for answers from the sky.
Each of us can look inside,
And hear this song within.

They don’t always happen when, you ask.
And it’s easy to give in, to your fear.
But when you blinded by your faith,
Can’t see your way clear through the rain,
A small but still resilient voice;
Says hope is very near.
Ohhhhh.

There can be miracles,
When you believe.
Though hope is frail,
It's hard to kill.

Who knows what miracles,
You can achieve.
When you believe,
Some how you will. . .

How you will
You will when you believe.
You will when you believe.

lIfE mAdE sImPlE..

The three grand essentials of happiness are: Something to do, Someone to love, and Something to hope for..

To be without desires, is to be content. If you do not wish to have something, you are content with what you have. And it always seems to me that, the more we don't desire something, the greater the chance of getting it, and all the more exciting. To be without desire, is to be simple. If life is simple, then life is not complicated..

a WaLk To ReMeMbEr...

Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

fRiEnDs..

If you should die before me, ask if you could bring a friend..
I will sail my vessel, till the river runs dry...
If you live to be a hundred,
I want to live to be a hundred minus one day,

so I never have to live without you..

The highest mountains i will climb..
True friendship is like sound health;
the value of it is seldom known until it is lost..

The deepest oceans i will dive..
A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out..
Till the end of world..
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me,
I may not lead.
Walk beside me and be my friend.

Till the end of time..
Strangers are just friends waiting to happen.
Friends are the Bacon bits in the Salad Bowl of Life..

Come what may..
Friendship is one mind in two bodies..
There will always be..
I'll lean on you and you lean on me and we'll be okay..
Someone honest..
If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them,
I'd be at the bottom to catch them..

and shy..
Everyone hears what you say.
Friends listen to what you say.

Best friends listen to what you don't say..

But gentle..
We all take different paths in life,
but no matter where we go,

we take a little of each other everywhere..

and kind..
My father always used to say that when you die,
if you've got five real friends, then you've had a great life..

Waiting..
Hold a true friend with both your hands..
and waiting..
A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart
and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words..

For your everlasting smile..

When life fell apart, love fell into place...

ShOuLd I sTaY...

Had a drive
Driven by your love
But when you messed around
I lost the drive I found

Thought you needed
Needed someone true
But you changed your mind
Or had I failed you?

Wish you’d been
Careful with my heart
But you tore it apart
And broke an angel’s heart

The kiss was true
Has to end somehow
But I am livin’ proof of what love is about

It’s hard holding you
Loving you, losing you
It’s sad to be true
And be fooled by you
I don’t know (I don’t know)
I gotta know
Should I stay or should I go?

You played me on
Played me like a clown
But I feel for you
Even though I’m down

My heart is heavy
Heavy like a rock
But I am so amused
You’re still in my thoughts

It’s hard holding you
Loving you, losing you
It’s sad to be true
And be fooled by you
I don’t know (I don’t know)
I gotta know
Should I stay or should I go?

Oooohh… should I stay?
Should I go?

It’s hard holding you
Loving you, losing you
It’s sad to be true
And be fooled by you
I don’t know (I don’t know)
I wanna know
Should I stay or should I…?

This time its done
It’ll never feel the same
But we had some good times
Guess it’s sad just the same

I guess the truth
Doesn’t matter somehow
But you were livin’ proof of what love is about…

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see
That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she's got everything that I have to live without

Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it's so damn funny
That I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night

[Chorus:]

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do

Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly,
The kind of flawless I wish I could be
She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause

[Repeat Chorus]

So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light
I'll put his picture down and maybe
Get some sleep tonight

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who's got enough of me to break my heart
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
He's the time taken up, but there's never enough
And he's all that I need to fall into..

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see.

give me a reason, n i'll give u my very best ever..

ThE nItE..

Emotions run wild.. literally..

a day tt started with little sleep..

a little conversion in the afternoon..

a little warmup in the evening..

a little emotional outburst..

n the show still has to go on..

simple, but effective..

believe, n everything shall fall into place..

simple as that..

a job well done guys.. really appreciate the effort..

eMoTiOnS..

Volcanic eruption..

Avalanches..

A lack of control.. So everything fell apart..

pIzZa..

a lack of expression..

or prob it's the "being watched" feeling that keeps things inside or from coming out..

hmm.. an inherent need to look good?

tt's superficial.. n it sux..

from the way things are, alot of little little details will be gone forever..

like an upside-down pizza with the toppings falling off one by one, in the end, u're only left with the crust.. simple, plain and bland..

how abt a bit of spice?

pRoPhEcY...

predictions, or game plan?

or juz pure luck?

so when do u go with ur instincts, n when do u follow tried n tested formulas?

or maybe it's juz sth tt cannot be helped..

u win some, u lose some.. tt's karma..
